Current Meet Report

Newport Harbor at San Clemente (Nov. 13 2007)

The Newport Harbor High school surf team was defeated 101-67 by a very strong San Clemente High. The Sailors season record drops to 4-1 and are now tied within the South Coast League with San Clemente, each team having recorded one loss. San Clemente came to its home surf at T Street prepared for battle and won the overall contest as well as the boy’s short board, body board, and girl’s long board competitions.

The girl’s short board squad remained undefeated at 5-0 and was lead by first place finisher Kaleigh Gilchrist. Camille Collett placed third for the winning squad.

The boy’s long board squad also won and was led by Andy Delorme and Michael Maddox who placed second and third respectively.

The boy’s short board squad saw Chase Wilson and Cameron Clark each place second in their respective heats and Jared Cassidy placed third.

Hailey Sandberg placed third for the girl’s long board squad.

The last season meet takes place on Thursday at 56 th street against Dana Hills.
